Day 1: Nairobi / Nanyuki – Sirimon Gate – Old Moses Camp
Altitude: 2,650m to 3,300m
Distance: 9 km
Hiking Time: 3 to 4 hours
Departure from Nairobi or meeting point in Nanyuki town. Transfer to Sirimon Gate for registration and trek briefing.
Begin hiking through montane forest rich with birdlife and wildlife. The trail gradually transitions into open moorland with expansive views of Mount Kenya landscapes.
Arrive at Old Moses Camp in the afternoon for rest and acclimatization.
Meals: Lunch and Dinner
Accommodation: Old Moses Camp (Mountain Hut)
Day 2: Old Moses Camp – Shipton Camp
Altitude: 3,300m to 4,200m
Distance: 14 km
Hiking Time: 6 to 7 hours
After breakfast, trek across Mackinders Valley surrounded by dramatic peaks and unique alpine vegetation such as giant lobelias and groundsels.
Enjoy panoramic views of Batian and Nelion peaks as you approach Shipton Camp.
This is a key acclimatization day preparing for the summit attempt.

Accommodation: Shipton Camp
Day 3: Summit Attempt (Point Lenana) – Mintos Camp via Chogoria Route
Altitude: 4,200m to 4,985m to 4,300m
Hiking Time: 9 to 11 hours
Wake up around midnight for the summit push to Point Lenana. Trek under the stars reaching the summit at sunrise for unforgettable views over Kenya’s landscapes.
After photos and celebration, descend via the spectacular Chogoria Route.
Pass scenic landmarks including:
• Lake Ellis viewpoints
• Gorges Valley
• High alpine lakes and glaciers
Arrive at Mintos Camp for overnight rest.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Mintos Camp
Day 4: Mintos Camp – Chogoria Gate – Departure
Altitude: 4,300m to 2,950m
Hiking Time: 4 to 5 hours trekking + transfer
After breakfast, descend through beautiful valleys and bamboo forest zones toward Chogoria Gate.
Meet the Trekwise Tours vehicle and transfer back to Chogoria town, Nanyuki, or Nairobi.
